Contact Lists is an entity in DonorDock that stores all your Marketing Segments, Badges and Marketing Lists, in one place. It's here where you can get a quick understanding of the total number of badges and marketing lists in alphabetical order, review total number of contacts in a list and access a quick report of each list. 


Creating and Managing Badges and Marketing Lists

  1. Navigate to Contact Lists from the Contacts dropdown in the main navigation menu
  2. To create a Badge go to the badge column, input the badge name and click create
  3. To create a Marketing List do the same as above in the Marketing List Column
  4. As you add badges or marketing lists to contact records, you will see the total number of contacts tagged increase
  5. To remove a Badge or Marketing list, simply click on the trash icon and verify that you want to delete the tag


Bulk Emailing with Marketing Lists

  1. Navigate to Contact Lists from the Contacts dropdown in the main navigation menu
  2. Scroll to find the marketing list that you are looking for and choose the Email Icon next to it
  3. You will be sent to the bulk email area with the Send To filled with the chosen Marketing List
  4. Input your email information (subject, relationships, etc.) and load your template
  5. Make any necessary adjustments and send to your donors



Sending Emails Via a New Report 

You can send emails by accessing a report through a badge or marketing list, or directly from any contact, gift or activity report from the reports page. 


Sending emails via a created report will create a temporary marketing list where you can send a one time email. You may do this if you don't want to create a marketing list. For example, maybe you have 10 people that you want to follow up with for a pledge they committed to for a one time event that is due in a week. This will allow you to quickly send out an email to all of them quickly without having to manage a new marketing list. 

  1. Go to Reports from the reporting tab in the main menu and choose a custom or system report to access; or choose a badge/marketing list from the contact lists page or individual record
  2. Update the filters to pull back contact records as necessary 
  3. Once you have the records you want, choose Send Emails in the upper right hand corner of the report
  4. You will be sent to the bulk email area with the Send To filled with the chosen contact records in a TEMPORARY Marketing List
  5. Input your email information (subject, relationships, etc.) and load your template
  6. Make any necessary adjustments and send the email out to the temporary marketing list
